Gamers still love these Perry Miniatures plastic sets.

Perry plastics have been around for years and I still keep being asked to assemble and paint them proving they are as popular as ever. I have to say its a real labour of love and whilst the end result is always good, when you ae faced with a box of 46 miniatures to build, prime, base and varnish, well, lets just say the end result is worth the agony.

So it was with these Prussians. You know, I have painted quite a few boxes of these great miniatures over the past few years but there has always been a long gap between each commission, the last being 2017, so its easy to forget the amount of work you need to put in to paint them.

I painted these figures for a customer in the US and I know I spent a good 24 hours spread over three days on them, a good portion of that time was taken up with cutting the figures from the sprews, gluing the parts together and undercoating, all laborious tasks but have to be done.

Painting the figures is also a little repetitive.  I painted all 46 at once, skin tone first, then guns, jackets, breeches, facing colours and webbing, you tend to get the feeling that you are never going to finish them, but suddenly they are based and looking like a good sized battalion.

I sat back, took my photos, boxed them up and sent them on their way.  Another job done, time to move on to the next
